Haematology is the specialist branch of internal medicine concerned with the blood and the organs that make up the haematopoietic system. It studies the causes, diagnosis, treatment, prognosis and prevention of blood diseases. This study is closely related to the diagnosis of malignant clinical conditions such as leukaemia and lymphomas, in collaboration with Oncology (oncohaematology).
