The Medical Centre performs endoscopy examinations for diagnosis, therapeutic treatment, execution of any surgical intervention and it provides postoperative assistance.

The examinations carried out with anaesthesia treatment (if it is necessary) are:

Diagnostic Endoscopy

  • Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD)
  • Pancolonoscopy (Colonoscopy)
  • Vital stain
  • Magnification endoscopy
  • Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS)
  • Conventional and Wireless Esophageal pH monitoring
  • High resolution esophageal manometry (HRM)

Clinical Endoscopy

  • Rigid, hydraulic, pneumatic dilation
  • PEG (Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy) placement
  • Endoprosthesis placement
  • Mucosectomy (EMR, Endoscopic Mucosal Resection)
  • ESD, Endoscopic Mucosal resection
  • RFA, Radiofrequency Ablation
  • Fistula and esophageal perforation treatment
  • PerOral Endoscopic Myotomy (POEM) for Achalasia

The video capsule endoscopy allows to view the colon-rectum mucosa through the ingestion of a small remote-controlled capsule-shaped camera that, while moving along the digestive tract, records images and sends them to a small external recorder that the patient wears on a belt.

Compared to traditional and virtual colonoscopy, video-capsule colonoscopy allows a direct view of the colon mucosa (like the traditional examination), it does not use radiation (like the virtual colonoscopy), and even if it is not therapeutic, it is at least definitely non-invasive.
