Psychologist is a health professional who uses cognitive and operative tools in the field of psychology (art. 1 L. 56/89) and for health purposes such as diagnosis, therapy and psychological rehabilitation (D.M. 17/05/2002).
In Italy, only psychologists registered in the professional register can practice psychological activities (after a training path of 5 years of Psychology University, 1 year of traineeship and a professional practice exam: L.56/89).
Clinical Psychology includes scientific study and psychology applications regarding the comprehension, prevention and intervention on psychological and social difficulties (on an individual level and within family and groups) and the promotion of psychosocial wellness by identifying the disease in its starting phase.
